The Taylor sisters, Maggie, Emma, and Elizabeth have been part of the Pembroke Pines Aquatic Center swimming program since Safety Around Water last year. During the first lesson, all three were very apprehensive while in the pool, upset, and scared of the water. Maggie had tears in her eyes and was clinging to either me or the wall the whole time.
However, since then they have made extensive progress. Kate, their mom, recently told me a story about their trip to the beach. The girls were letting the waves come over their faces and bodies while in the ocean. Their mom expressed that they have never done that before. Previously they would just stand near the shore and let the water run over their feet. Presently, Maggie, Emma, and Elizabeth are comfortable in the water, swimming, and have gained much confidence.
